The Lotus Europa S has been designed to meet this brief, but not at the expense of the pure emotion and sheer excitement that driving a Lotus brings... when the weekend finally arrives and ‘Grand Touring’ is at last ‘Item One’ on any Lotus Owner’s Agenda!
A 2-seater with both ‘GT’ panache and prestige, the Lotus Europa S will provide customers with a spectacular Lotus sportscar, offering significantly enhanced levels of touring and cruising capability. It provides all of the outrageous fun and exhilaration of driving a true Lotus, whilst also giving the driver the greater practicality associated with a GT or ‘Grand Tourer’ inspired car.
The purity and simplicity of the Lotus Elise and Exige range is now perfectly complemented with the arrival of the Lotus Europa S, a car which stays true to the Lotus philosophy of ‘performance through light weight’.
Our new car weighs in at only 995kg, made possible by the use of immensely strong but lightweight components including an aluminium chassis and composite body panels. When compared to the award winning Lotus Elise, the Europa S provides greater boot volume and easier cockpit accessibility, resulting from lower chassis sides and a higherroofline. Coupled with luxuries such as full leather interior, driver and passenger airbags and carpets all as standard, we feel we have created a truly uncompromised “Business Class by Lotus” driving experience.
Production of the Lotus Europa S is scheduled to commence in July 2006 at the award winning* manufacturing facility at the Lotus Headquarters in Hethel, Norfolk, UK. The Europa S will be sold in all markets where the Lotus brand is present, except for the USA and Canada.Group Lotus plc was recently awarded The Manufacturer Magazine's "World Class Manufacturer of the Year" Award for 2005 for its facility in Hethel, United Kingdom.
