About Marcos Cars
The original Marcos company was founded in Luton, in 1959 by Jem Marsh and Frank Costin. Costin had earlier worked on the De Havilland Mosquito fighter-bombers which is where he had the idea of using plywood for the car’s chassis. The company moved to Wiltshire in 1963, transferring to a purpose built factory at nearby Westbury in 1971.
Shortly after the move, the company hit financial problems and were forced to close. Marsh, however, bought the rights to the Marcos name and in 1981 the company was back in business selling the Marcos V6 Coupe in kit form.san sapien.
The company folded once more in 2000, but has been brought back to life with new owners and is now producing cars again. The race car production is located in Holland whilst the road cars are made in Warwickshire.
